Jaime was born on April 22, 1954, in San Benito, TX. He joined the United States Army at the young age of 17 where he served 3 years, followed by an additional 3 years in the National Guard of the United States. Upon completion of his military service, Jaime embarked on his lifelong career in law enforcement. He worked his way through the ranks where he eventually retired as Sergeant from the San Benito Police Department. Through his tenure, he made a positive impact in his community and made lifelong friendships that he treasured dearly.
Jaime married the love of his life at the age of 19. Together, they raised their 3 children and experienced the joy of their two grandsons.
Jaime enjoyed hunting, reading, and collecting any and all law enforcement and military memorabilia. He had a profound love for his family and his wit was unmatched. He leaves behind many memories filled with love and laughter.
Jaime is survived by his wife, Janie Perez; his son Jaime Perez Jr. (Maggie); his son Mark Perez; and his daughter Rebecca Perez; his brother Ruben Perez (Estela), his sister Dahlia Garcia (+Roy) and his sister Diana Perez (+Jerry); his grandchild Abram and his grandchild Isaac.
Jaime is also survived by numerous relatives, friends and loved ones.
Jaime was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Georgina Cavazos-Perez; his father Medardo Perez and his mother Julia R. Perez; his brother Reynaldo Perez (surviving spouse, Ophelia).
