Martha C. Balboa, 79, lovingly known as Nana, Momo, and Margie entered through Heaven's gates on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. She was born on September 10, 1946 to Federico and Anita Carrizales in Los Fresnos, Texas.
Martha was a devoted wife and mother of three children who were raised with strength, dedication and unconditional love. After the loss of her husband of 55 yrs, she continued to be the heart of her family, always putting others before her. She lived an active life and was deeply involved in caring for her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.
She loved gardening, attending her children's sports games, and spending time in the kitchen sharing cherished traditions. Teaching her children and grandchildren how to make tamales and tortillas was one of the many ways she expressed her love and passed down her culture. She also enjoyed simple pleasures- spending time in her garden, going antiquing, trips to Whataburger, eating nopal tacos and never forgetting to add chilito.
Martha's kindness, warmth and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Martha is preceded in death by husband Ruben G Balboa, parents Federico & Anita Carrizales, siblings Luz C. Velasquez, Petra Monsibaiz, Federico Carrizales Jr, Andres Carrizales Ruby Lara.
She is survived by her children Lucinda B. (Rodney) Cantu, Ruben (Josie) Balboa, Gilbert Balboa, grandchildren Gabriel (Monica) Cantu, Priscilla (Joel) Hernandez, Ruben (Samantha) Balboa III, Kristopher Balboa, Jacinda (Brayden) Hurley, Brandon Balboa, and great grandson Adrian "AC" Cantu.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. A prayer service will take place on the same day at 7:00 pm. The chapel service is scheduled for January 5, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by the burial at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park at 11:00 am.
