A devoted educator, community leader, and man of deep faith, he leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and unwavering commitment to his family and community.
Born on March 15, 1964, in Harlingen, Texas, Dr. Moraida dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of others. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Education from Pan American University. His academic journey culminated with a Doctorate in Bilingual Education from Texas A&M University - Kingsville—an achievement that reflected both his intellectual drive and his passion for empowering students through education.
Dr. Moraida began his distinguished career in education in 1985 as a second-grade teacher with Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District. Over the years, he rose through the ranks with dedication and integrity, serving as an Instructional Supervisor, Principal, and Director. After his retirement in 2017, he became a Clinical Teaching Field Supervisor for UTRGV. His leadership left a mark on countless students and educators who were fortunate to work alongside him or learn under his guidance.
Beyond the classroom and administrative offices, Dr. Moraida was deeply involved in community service. He actively participated in local school committees such as the Band Booster Club, School Health Advisory Council, and the Education Foundation Board. His commitment to educational excellence extended far beyond his professional duties—he was a tireless advocate for student success at every level.
Faith was central to Dr. Moraida’s life. A devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Catechist, Altar Server and Altar Server Sponsor. He was also a Schoenstatt Leader for the Rosary Campaign and held leadership roles within the Schoenstatt Family Federation USA - Course 5. As a Pilgrim Mother State Coordinator and USA ambassador for We Are All Schoenstatt, he exemplified spiritual leadership rooted in humility and devotion.
Dr. Moraida found joy in simple pleasures—reading, traveling, and caring for his yard brought him peace and fulfillment. Yet nothing compared to the joy he found in being a grandfather. Whether taking naps together, watching Zootopia, Cars, Little House on the Prairie, or playing with toys side-by-side, time spent with his grandson was among his most cherished moments.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years Ruby Lou Moraida. His children Gina Lorraine and Noe IV (Shiann) as well as his treasured grandson, Xavier who brought light into his days. He is also survived by his mother Angelica O. Moraida and sister Lisa (Albert) Chapa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jesus and Delores Portillo; brother-in-law Jose Miranda; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren and friends.
Dr. Moraida was preceded in death by his father Noe Moraida Jr. His in-laws Narciso S. Portillo Jr. and Maria M. Portillo.
A man known for his faith, passion for education, and unconditional love for his family, Dr. Noe Moraida, III will be remembered not only for what he accomplished but for how he lived—with purpose, compassion, and grace.

The visitation for Noe will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559. A rosary will occur Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be conducted at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in La Feria, TX on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 12:00 PM. Burial service will be at 1:00 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park, 14166 Business 83, La Feria, Texas 78559.
