God of all our days,
You were present at the first breath of this life
and You are present now, at this holy goodbye.
We place into Your hands a soul You knew before we ever did.
What we release in love, You receive in glory.
What we mourn in absence, You hold in eternal light.
Lord Jesus, You wept at the grave of a friend—
so You understand our tears.
Sit with us in our grief.
Hold us when words fail.
Remind us that death is not the end, but a doorway into Your promise.
Thank You for the love that shaped this life,
for laughter shared, lessons learned,
and the quiet moments that will remain with us forever.
Let gratitude rise alongside our sorrow.
Holy Spirit, breathe peace into heavy hearts.
Give us strength for tomorrow,
and hope rooted not in what we see, but in what You have promised:
that life is changed, not ended,
and that we will meet again in Your presence.
Until that day,
teach us to carry love forward,
to live well because this life mattered,
and to trust You with what we cannot yet understand.
We commend this soul to You, O God—
Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer—
confident that Your mercy is wider than our grief
and Your love stronger than death.
Amen.
