He was retired from the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet, a tax preparer, a Methodist, a member of Fortitude Masonic Lodge #47, a Kentucky Colonel, Member of the Kentucky Pharmacy Board, former Oldham County Democratic Party Chairman, and Oldham County campaign chairman for former Governor Jones. David was also an avid fisherman and a UK Fan.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years: Martha Pryor Ellis Monroe; daughter: Becky Hicks (Gene) and grandchildren: Sarah Beth Clausen Meade and Brad Hicks (Janette).
Visitation at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home and Cremation Services 5-8 Monday with a Masonic service at 7:00 PM. Graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Valley of Rest Cemetery.
