He was happily divorced and preceded in death by his son William “Anthony” Watson, who tragically died in 2003. He leaves behind his eldest brother Lascelles “Tony” Watson and his sisters Allison Watson and Blondell Gollaub. He had a host of nephews and nieces who loved him dearly.
Kirk was born in St. Ann’s Bay, Jamaica where he was an avid student and sports fan. He was lover of music and very much in love with his Jamaican origins and culture. Kirk was a graduate of Jamaica College and later attended the University of the West Indies. After school, Kirk worked at Kaiser Aluminum Company. In 1977 Kirk left Jamaica and joined the rest of his family in Louisville, Kentucky.
While in Louisville, he had various jobs. He spent the remainder of his career at Black and Decker. Kirk was a wonderful gardener and a lover of plants. Also he was a lover of animals including cats and his beloved schnauzers. On most days, you could find him outside tending to his garden with his dog by his side. He continued his love of sports and was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat fan. Kirk was a global citizen and was very interested in politics. He had many interesting theories on how the world operated. Being around Kirk, meant that you would be exposed to an abundance of knowledge, debates and colorful jokes. It goes without saying that he will be dearly missed by all that were fortunate enough to be close to him.
