Jonn Elaine Carrender, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on January 11, 1946, in Mamou, Louisiana, to the late Robert Clarence and Gertie Mae (Aucoin) Hinton.
Elaine owned Elaine's Hair Ship in PeWee Valley, Kentucky, beginning her career immediately after high school. Her passion and skill in this field spanned an impressive 50 years.
In her personal life, Elaine enjoyed sewing, painting, and crafts. She loved Corvettes. Elaine was also an avid fan of "Dancing with the Stars," and those close to her knew not to interrupt her during the show.
Elaine is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, George Wilson Carrender; her loving daughter, Shawnda Caudill; her caring son, Todd Carrender; and her cherished grandchildren, Noah Caudill and Alex Caudill. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Hinton (Teresa), her brother-in-law, Fred Carrender (Linda), and cat, Penny.
A visitation will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, located at 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, Kentucky, on December 13, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A private committal service will take place at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, Kentucky.
Elaine will be remembered for her dedication to her craft, her creative spirit, and her unwavering love for her family and friends.
