He was born on August 2, 1945 in Pacorá, Caldas, Colombia.
Orlando was a certified histologist for the National Cancer Institute in Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Colombia. Cancer research was his passion for over 25 years. He is also a retired employee of The Legacy Center of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary of Louisville, KY. His greatest hobby was cycling, he raced on a team through his hospital in Colombia and enjoyed riding up until the recent months.
He is preceded in death by his mother; Margarita Franco Martinez and son; Nelson O. Franco.
Left to cherish the memory of Orlando are his wife and the love of his life of 54 years; Clotilde "Cleo" Franco, children; Sandra Stadthagen (Martin), Adriana Barrero (Francisco), Alejandro Franco (Heidy) and Christian Franco (Amanda), 11 grandchildren; Martin, Suzie, Christian (Andrea), Michelle (Jonathan), Nathalie, Dhavid, Emanuel, Elizabeth, Daniel, Nelson and Samuel, siblings; Jaime and Nora Franco, brother-in-law; Efrain (Magdalena), nephew; Cristian, extended family and friends.
A private celebration of life will be held on October 15, 2022 for family and close friends.
