Norman Thomas Sr. of Louisville, Kentucky departed this world on April 22,2024 at the age of 84, Norman Thomas was born to the late Joe Henry and Anna Louden Thomas on August 23, 1939 in Shelby County. He was the oldest of ten children born of this union. Five of his siblings preceded him in death.
Norman grew up and went to LaGrange Training school. Norman helped on his father farm before becoming the First Black Public Bus driver where he would transport passenger from Oldham to Jefferson County. Norman droved the Public Bus for 4 years. After that he was what some people would call a Jack of all trades. Norman was an entrepreneur and wasn’t afraid of hard work. He started Norman Car Detailing company and would brag to people about how he was the best around. Norman had several high-profile client’s even Rick Pitino.
Norman was proceeded in death by his parents Joe and Anna Thomas his brothers Elmo, Ronald, Donald, David and sister Betsy Thomas Saunders.
Left to cherish the memory of Norman are his loving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and 3 sisters Flora Lewis(James), Patricia Mosby, and Kathleen Crush-Gray. 1 brother William “Billy” Thomas (Jenny). Sister-in-law: Iris Thomas and Rose Thomas. Many Nieces and Nephews, cousins and friends.
