Dick is survived by his loving wife, Maureen, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, his sons and their spouses and one grandchild: Richard III and Stephanie, Jason and Jennifer and their son, Jason Jr.
Dick lived a life of service. He served his country in the Army in Vietnam. He served his family as a loving husband and father. He served his church as lector and as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He served his community by always lending a hand and helping those in need.

He was an air traffic controller in Vietnam, a jet engine mechanic, a helicopter mechanic and crew chief for 14 years in the National Guard, and project leader for the Federal Government and subsequently for GE Aircraft Engines for 30 years. After retirement Dick and Maureen moved from their longtime home in Smithfield, Rhode Island to Kentucky to be closer to their sons.
