He is preceded in death by his precious wife of 22 years Mary Frances Taylor, his parents, sisters; Mary Louise Wright and Barbara Smith, and two beautiful granddaughters; Carrie Lynn Dunaway and Kellie Shea Ward.
Left to cherish the memory of Bob is his sister; Renie Wright (Leves), his three daughters; Connie Dunaway, Bobbie Jean Ward (Phil) and Charlene Adams, grandchildren; Casey Dunaway, Brad Cantrell (Beth), and Ashley Wimberley (John), great-grandchildren; Noah Wimberley, Sawyer Wimberley, Eli Wimberley, and Laylyn Dunaway.
To his grandchildren and great grandchildren he was better known as Paw. He always made time for all of his grandchildren and even the nieces and nephews. There were always a ton around in the early days.
To his friends and co-works he was know as Bob, always playing pranks and joking around. He worked for Clayton & Lambert in the Service Department and later worked for Torbitt and Castleman till he retired.
He was a deacon at Buckner Baptist Church in Buckner, Kentucky and a member of the First Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia.
I think one of the proudest times was when he worked with the Buckner Volunteer Fire and Rescue Team in Buckner, Kentucky. Even till the day he passed he always talked to the EMS drivers about his time as a Volunteer Fireman.
Dad like to, as we called it, tinker with things. I personally think he broke more than he fixed but he made a good run at it. He loved to fish! Mary went fishing with him on several occasions even tho she couldn’t swim. He also loved to pick pecans. I will say one thing about my dad he made the best vegetable soup I’ve ever tasted and the best home grown tomatoes.
My dad was a very gentle and kind man that would always be there to lift you up when you needed it. I love him with all my heart and will always keep him there so he will never be forgotten.
Thank you for being my Dad!
