William was born on August 23, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Zeno Seward and Ruth Seward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Velma Seward.
William spent much of his married life in Oldham County, Kentucky. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army as a tank driver. He was known for his sense of humor, kind heart, and ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him.
Above all else, William loved his family deeply. Spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter brought him his greatest happiness. Family was the center of his life, and the memories he created with them will be treasured forever. He especially missed his wife, Velma, following her passing in August 2025.
He is survived by his three sons: Daniel Seward and his wife, Julia, and their children, Olivia and Alex; Todd Seward and his wife, Brandy, and their children, Leah and Ethan, along with great-granddaughter Tinley; and Shane Seward; and siblings, Betty Mintor and Fonda Seward. William also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family would also like to express heartfelt gratitude to the devoted caregivers for the care they gave William and Velma.
