Abraham Frederic Barker, at age 50, passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2020. He was the husband of Colleen Hannafin Barker, with whom he shared 13 years of life. He was born in San Diego, California, the only child of his mother, Kathy Barker. He graduated from San Francisco State, and then with honors from ONU Law School. He was currently a partner of Eichelbaum Wardell. He was a member of Life Austin Church.
As a child, he was greatly interested in sports, playing little league, joining his grandpa at\ Padre and Charger games, and avidly collecting baseball cards and memorabilia, which became a lifelong hobby of his.
As an adult, he enjoyed spontaneous adventures like the many, many road trips taken, family hikes and outings, trips to the beach, to the snow, to baseball and football games in other cities. He was a lover of “critters”, and had many pets from dogs to frogs. He was a total movie buff and addict of all music. He also enjoyed taking his children to musicals. He will be remembered for his many pranks and the many laughs he gave to his family and friends.
He was loved by many, and his loss has left a large hole in the lives of those he left behind. Those include his mother Kathy Barker, his wife Colleen Hannafin Barker, and his children Gabriel Frederic Lee Barker, Isabella Pistone Barker, Sofia Pistone Barker, and Quentin Lee Barker. And also, his cousin Ikah Barker, and his Aunts Teenah Barker, Shan Burton, and Nancy Stuydt. And the mother of his two sons, Jamie Barker. He also left behind his critter crew of Rory, Sheldon, Thor, Natasha, Kaa, Remy, Fin, and Scabber.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, May 29th, 2020, at 11 am at the Southwest Campus Life Austin Chapel. Located at 8901 Highway 71 West, Austin, Texas 78735.
