Born January 6, 1966 in Oklahoma City, OK to Jay & Ruthann Askew, he had one brother, Bart Askew. Chris graduated from MacArthur HS in Irving, TX where he excelled in sports, playing baseball, football and basketball. He then graduated from Texas A&M University, class of 1990, with a degree in Business Management.
In 1994, Chris was married to Jennifer Lange Askew and they have two children, a son, Luke, and a daughter, Lauren. Chris is survived by them and many loving extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, J. Haskell Askew, Josephine Rogers Askew, John W. Dwyer, and Hope Reed Dwyer.
Chris was a decorated fire officer with 15 years of service to the citizens of the Westlake area. Chris also held a real estate broker’s license. A former professional golfer, Chris still had a passion for golfing. He also loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He particularly enjoyed spending time at his family ranch and summer trips to Colorado with his family where he loved to fly fish.
Chris was a loving son, husband and father and he was incredibly proud of his children. Chris was kind, generous with his time, and always willing to help others. He served as a mentor to his crew at the fire department and was loved by his first responder family. Chris was a member of Emmaus Catholic Parish in Lakeway, TX.
