Our beloved Cody Naumann, who called the Texas Hill Country his home, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on June 13, 2022. Cody is pain free after a long and heartbreaking, but courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
As a 6th generation Texan, Cody was born in Georgetown, Texas on August 24th, 1960 to Leo and Virginia Naumann. He was raised on the ranch and was a true Cowboy at heart. Horses were his first love. As a teen, Cody became an accomplished calf roper and toured the PRCA circuit. He proceeded on to become a gifted and nationally renowned horse trainer in the American Quarter Horse circuit. Later in life, Cody became a successful businessman in the insurance and financial industries.
Cody is most known for, and will be lovingly remembered, for his gentle strength, kindness, self-lessness and deep love for his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife Alisa Naumann; his cherished daughters Shanel Butler and Audra Niedzielski; his adored grandchildren Taylor Butler and Archie Niedzielski; his loving mother Virginia Naumann and brother Clay Naumann; his caring aunt and uncle Lena and Don Sanders; his loving in-laws Howell and Peggy McBrayer and Michelle Johnston; son Ruger Carstens; and many friends and family members.
He is preceded in death by his father Leo Naumann, grandparents Malcolm and Pauline Naumann, and William and Ruby Whitfield.
Cody was deeply loved by his family and cherished by his close friends.
Cody’s love and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior brought him much comfort and peace in his life and will continue to bring him that for eternity. During his last weeks of life, Cody would say “Jesus is my friend” – such a simple but eternally profound statement.
Our family would like to express immense gratitude to those who lovingly helped care for Cody during his last stage of illness.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Weed-Corley Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway, TX. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Weed-Corley Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway. Interment will follow at Haynie Flat Cemetery in Spicewood, TX.
