Frances Tolleson Shackelford

Frances Tolleson Shackelford, age 78, of Austin, Texas passed away on April 27, 2015. She was born Frances Miller Tolleson in Louisville, Kentucky on May 25, 1936. She was the daughter of Rev. Jay Dee & Elizabeth Miller Tolleson. She married Wesley E. Shackelford in 1954.

Frances is survived by: her husband, Wesley "Gene" Shackelford, her three children and their spouses, Russell and Jenny Shackelford, Lesa and Mark Engelthaler and Beth and Doug Cheshier; her eight grandchildren, Matthew Engelthaler, Seth Shackelford, Joel Shackelford, David Engelthaler, Caleb Chesheir, Rachel Cheshier, Bethany Tarr, Emily Cheshier and three great grandchildren, Mandi, Lucy and Robert. She is also survived by her brother Paul Tolleson. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles Tolleson and her parents.

Frances was admired for her love of family and friends. First and foremost, was her love for her childhood sweetheart, Gene, they were blessed with sixty years of marriage. They enjoyed traveling together to all parts of the world. Frances cherished her relationship with her children, praying daily and encouraging them. As beloved "Grammie," she adored her eight grandchildren. To her absolute joy, she was blessed with three greatgrands! Among her greatest treasures were her friendships, developed over many years and in numerous places around the world.

Frances' passion in life was to teach the Word of God. She loved helping people study the Bible for themselves. Frances was privileged to be a Teaching Leader with Bible Study Fellowship for twelve years. Later in life, she used her gift of teaching in Mozambique, Africa to teach English and Bible classes.

There will be a memorial service Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 3:00 pm at The Lakeway Church in Lakeway, TX. 2203 Lakeway Blvd. Lakeway, TX 78734.
