Griffin Frederick von Roenn, 18, of Lakeway, TX, passed away on June 18, 2023, in Austin, TX. Griffin was born on August 9, 2004, in Louisville, KY to Jacqueline Page von Roenn and Dustin Wheeler. He is survived by his mother, father, brother Jude von Roenn, stepfather James Viner, stepbrother John Wesley Viner, half brother Silas, grandfather Kenneth von Roenn Jr., grandmother Ursula Vourvoulis, uncle Simon Banks, great grandmother Joan Gaston, uncle Kenneth 'Anand' von Roenn III, stepmother Kristina Wheeler, uncle Edwin Penna IV, aunt Page Penna, aunt Susan Penna, uncle Burleigh Kaster, great grandfather LaMar Gaston Jr., aunt Lina Vallejo, aunt Lauren von Roenn, uncle Chilton von Roenn, uncle John Sastre, aunt Myra Sastre, great grandmother Betty Fletcher, great grandfather Jim Fletcher, and his closest friends - Devan Wood, Elliot Taylor, and TJ Terrell. Griffin was preceded in death by his grandmother Dr. Kathleen P. von Roenn, great grandfather Edwin Penna III, grandmother Linda Banks, great grandfather Dr. Kenneth von Roenn, MD, and great grandmother Suzanne Sastre.

Griffin was a very engaging young man with an insatiable passion for life and a laugh that could be heard for miles. He will be remembered for his antics, his intense love for those he cared for most, his infectious smile, and his incessant quest for fun. But it will be Griffin’s genuinely unique personality that will be missed most. He was our very own unicorn.

A funeral service will be held at Weed, Corley, Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway, TX, on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 11:00 am. The family requests donations to be made to the Austin Animal Shelter in honor of Griffin's love for animals.

Rest in peace, Griffin. You leave a hole in the heart of everyone who knew and loved you.
