Janet K. Bied, 67, of Bee Cave, TX passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2023. Janet was born the oldest child on August 29, 1955 to the late Walter and Mildred Kiefer in New Jersey. At age 10 Janet moved with her family to Naperville, IL where she attended Lincoln Jr. High and Naperville Central High School. She went on to graduate from the College of DuPage with an Associate in Applied Science and became a Registered Nurse. After several years in nursing, Janet graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society.
Janet continued her studies and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing – Major Nurse Administered Anesthesia and worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for several years in Kansas City, Dallas and Austin. She is an Emeritus Member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
Janet was a member of Emmaus Catholic Parish where she served in the Nursing Ministry. Janet loved spending time with her devoted husband with a great sense of humor and their travels throughout the US, Europe, the Caribbean, and most recently to Alaska where they were able to take a float plane into the Misty Fjords National Monument.
Janet was predeceased by her parents Walter and Mildred Kiefer and her second Mom Isabelle Ford.
Janet is survived by her beloved husband Mark Bied of 26 years, sister Susan (Jim) Griffin, sister Pamela Kiefer, brother Richard (Paula) Kiefer, and Eric (Angela) Kiefer. She will also be missed by her beagle Parker.
Janet was also blessed during her lifetime with Godparents, 3 sets of grandparents, aunts, uncles, brother and sister in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews and many priceless life-long friendships.
