

Michael (Mike) Thomas Dixon, 62, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at his home in Lakeway, Texas. He was surrounded by his loving children and wife, Shari Dixon. Mike was born in Wichita, Kansas on November 3, 1958, the 4th son of Von Harold Dixon and Gloria Jerome Dixon.
Mike graduated from Anderson High School in Austin, TX, Class of 1977, where he was an accomplished football player and wrestler. He married his high school sweetheart, Shari Sobieski, and they raised four children together. He was an employee of Southwest Airlines for 38 years, rising from plane cleaner and ramp agent to station manager of the Austin station. His promotions took the family from Austin to St. Louis, Houston to Dallas, Las Vegas to Amarillo, and finally back to Austin, where he retired from Southwest Airlines in 2020. He and Shari celebrated 41 years of marriage in March 2021.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a nephew, Zane Dixon. Surviving in addition to his wife, Shari Dixon, are his sons, Clinton Dixon, and his wife, Lindsay, of Round Rock; Zachary Dixon, and his wife Amanda, of Double Oak; daughters, Rachelle Rountree, and her husband, Braeden, of Nashville; Jaclyn Busker, and her husband, Eric, of Cedar Park; ten grandchildren, Aubrey Dixon; Avery Dixon; Emma Dixon; Masyn Mullins; Ryenn Mullins; Adelynn Dixon; Carter Dixon; Amelia Busker; Jameson Busker; Owen Rountree; four brothers, Von Dixon Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Boerne; Donn Dixon of Austin; Ronn Dixon of Austin; Richard Dixon and his wife, Tracy, of Weatherford; one sister, Suzanne Kretschmer and her husband, Jon, of Magnolia; and many nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance and celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 30th at the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek, Lakeway, TX 78734.
