
Noreen Marie Gottschalk, 71, of Lakeway, TX, retired preschool teacher of over 25 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at her home. Noreen lived her whole life devoted to her family and friends. She found joy and sunlight in places where many others could not find it.
Noreen, and her twin Maureen, were born on September 4, 1948 in Detroit, MI to William and Madeleine Crook. They lived in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Noreen graduated high school from Dominican Academy in Oxford, MI and attended college at Nazareth in Kalamazoo, MI at which time she met Bob Gottschalk. They dated for a year and became engaged and were married on June 7, 1969. After moving to Germany to join Bob, who was in the Army and stationed in Stuttgart, their first child, Laura Marie, was born. Soon after, the family returned to Michigan and Robert (Bobby), Katie and William (Billy) joined the family.
Noreen loved living life to the fullest! She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would spend as much time as possible singing silly songs and playing with them. She also loved reading, crosswords, playing bridge, traveling and volunteering at church for Bright Horizons- a group that offers care to adults with Alzheimer’s/dementia. She touched so many peoples’ lives.
Noreen is survived by her husband Bob; her four children- Laura Mercer, Rob Gottschalk and spouse Angela, Katie Sisk and spouse Mike, and Billy Gottschalk; eleven grandchildren- Alyssa, Cole, Abbey, Leyna (deceased), Carys, Truman, Anna, Julia, Devyn, Lily, and Drew; Great-grandchildren- Aiden and Wesley; Siblings- her twin Maureen and spouse George, Gary and spouse Linda, Carol and spouse Tom, Shelagh and spouse Ulf, Michael, Kristen and spouse Bill.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday July 22nd and 23rd at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, 411 RR 620 South, followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohmans Crossing Road in Lakeway, Texas.
