

While her father was in the U.S. Navy, Rita lived in Boston, Massachusetts, Key West, Florida, Nice, France, and North Chicago, Illinois before the family settled in Austin, Texas in 1960.
Rita graduated from Lanier High School in Austin, Texas in 1968, obtained a B.A. in anthropology from The University of Texas at Austin in 1973 and a subsequent degree in theology from Ambassador College in Big Sandy, Texas in 1977.
Rita had a sensitive, caring, sentimental personality, always polite, with a classic, elegant style in everything she did. Rita was slow to criticize, generous in her praise, and an expert in writing thank-you notes!
On September 6, 1978, Rita married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Alpheus Hendrix "Al" Hall, Jr at Green Pastures in Austin, Texas. Rita always said her approach to marriage was "to let Al be Al." Rita and Al shared deeply held religious beliefs and Rita was devoted to Al over their 32 years of marriage.
Rita had a special talent as a calligrapher and for years belonged to the Austin Calligraphy Guild.
Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband and parents.
Rita is survived by her brother William Henry "Hal" Kloss, M.D. and wife Cheryl; sister Sally Kloss Dennison; nieces Andrea Dennison, Ph.D. and partner Tim Curry, and Jane Frances Kloss; nephews Adam Reagan Dennison, Robert Charles Kloss and Thomas Matthew Kloss; step-niece Caroll Irma Dennison and husband Mariano Gomez Gonzalez; step-grand nephew Andrzej Rzepecki; and step-grand niece Natalia Rzepecki.
Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 6th at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel in Lakeway.
Memorial contributions may be made to Austin Graduate School of Theology.
