Steven Craig Herrin was born on September 12th,1952 in Houston, Texas. He passed away peacefully on October 1st, 2021 at the age of 69, in Lakeway, Texas with his wife and daughter by his side. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Debra Sanders Herrin; his daughter Rachel Herrin Kokel, son-in-law Michael Thomas Kokel, and his precious grandson Dean Everett Kokel; his sister Kelly Jo Herrin; his aunt Pat Smith, and numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Jo Lynn Herrin & Billy Gene Herrin.
Steve grew up in Houston, attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville and then transferred to The University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Steve enjoyed many outdoor activities like surfing, and was on the Brand X Surf Team in college. He also could be found at the beach, or boating, sailing, skiing, hiking, and riding motorcycles. He loved the nature of the Texas Hill Country and lived the majority of his life in Austin and Lake Travis, Texas, where he created many great memories with his family. Steve will be remembered for his playful sense of humor and sweet nature, and greatly missed by all of his loved ones.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Steve's life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, October 23rd at One Chapel Lake Travis on Hwy 71.
