Therese Marie Clinch, 62, of Cedar Park, Texas, peacefully left this world on February 12, 2020. She was born on January 3, 1958 in Abilene, Texas to Patricia Eloise and Gerald George Clinch. In addition to Abilene, she has resided in the following places: Friendswood, Corpus Christi, Galveston, Dallas, San Angelo, Austin, and Kingsland. In 1976, she graduated from Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 1981, and she received her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Texas A & M University Corpus Christi in 1990. She started her career as a registered nurse specializing in pediatrics. Her true love, however, was working with nursing students. She spent the last 20 years with St. David’s HealthCare as a clinical nursing student educator, nurse recruiter, and quality coordinator.
Therese loved traveling, scrapbooking, laughing, dancing, spending time with friends and family, and her cherished cats: Eddie, Chelsea, Moe, Hunter, Peanut, and Scotty. Therese, also lovingly called ¨TC¨ by her family and ¨T¨ by Carolyn Schwartz and her large tribe of besties. She miraculously beat ovarian cancer in 2000 against enormous odds. Last summer she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. After completing chemo infusions, chemo pills, and radiation, she was shocked to learn that the cancer had spread to her liver. She was determined to beat it, but our God is merciful and clearly did not want her to continue to suffer through more excruciating treatments. She did not lose her battle to cancer but ultimately won, as she has begun her heavenly celebration.
Therese was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia and Gerald Clinch, and her brother, Tim Clinch. She is survived by her siblings: brother, Tommy Clinch (Karen); niece, April Glenn (Scott); great-nieces, Abby Grace, Claire, and Sophie; nephew, TJ Clinch (Mandy); great-niece, Ava; brother, Pat Clinch (Becca); niece, Sarah Moffitt (Austin); great-nephew, Crawford; great-niece, Mary Beth; niece, Elizabeth Jeter (Lucas); great-niece, Berdie; sister-in-law, Kim Clinch (fiancé, John Glaze); nephew, Sam Clinch; and niece, Caroline Clinch.
Therese, and her infectiously unforgettable laugh, will be painfully missed by everyone who has ever known her. To know her was to adore her. TC will forever be regarded by her family as ¨The Giver of Joy¨, ¨The World Greatest Aunt/Great-Aunt¨, and the world´s most positive, determined cancer warrior. Her legacy will live on in the patients she cared for, the nursing students she taught, and the nurses she helped find employment.
The memorial service and reception will be held on Tuesday, February 18 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway, Texas at 1:00 p.m. In TC fashion, we welcome everyone to choose joyous, casual attire. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Wonders & Worries, an organization that ensures children and teenagers reach their full potential, despite a parent's serious illness. #TCfortheWIN
