April 3, 1947 – January 17, 2025
Allen Earl Boyce passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on Friday, January 17, 2025, in Lancaster, California.
Born on April 3, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was the son of Winston and Ethel Boyce (née James) originally of Liverpool, England.
He was raised by Ethel and Bill Allen, alongside brothers Gary, John, and Ron, in a home filled with love, happiness, and adventure.
While stationed at Fort Buckner in Okinawa during the Vietnam War, he met Josephine Melecio on a blind date and found the true love of his life.
Together they built a loving home in Lancaster, California and raised four children: Allen Jr., William, Melissa, and Douglas. Despite humble beginnings, they worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their children and took great pride in supporting each of them through college.
But nothing brought Allen more joy than spending time with his four beloved grandchildren: Emma, Allen III, Caitlin, and Lauren.
Over his 42-year career in procurement with leading industrial engineering firms, Allen played a critical role in building vital energy infrastructure from Bakersfield to Long Beach, still relied upon by tens of millions of people to this day.
A devoted sports fan, he rarely missed a baseball game, football game, or Premier League match. He passionately supported Liverpool FC, embodying the spirit of its anthem, “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, by sharing loyalty, strength, and love with everyone around him.
Services will be held at Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster, California on Saturday, February 1.
