About

Located in the heart of Lancaster, California, Joshua Mortuary and Joshua Memorial Park work together as sister locations to offer funeral, memorial, cremation and cemetery services. Since 1959, our services have evolved but our commitment to exceptional professionalism has remained unchanged.

Celebrating life like no other

Celebration of life venue for services, gatherings and receptions at Joshua Mortuary & Joshua Memorial ParkWe understand that losing a loved one is a difficult and emotional experience. All of our funeral services are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual. We'll guide you through one of the most personal and challenging stages of life.

Sit with us and tell us about yourself or your loved one. Our dedicated funeral directors find inspiration almost anywhere—a favorite song, hobby, even an iconic style—and turn into a service filled with thoughtful and meaningful details. It’s our honor to design a celebration that reflects a personality and passion.

Maybe that means a classic car processional for Grandpa. Or perhaps it's a pie buffet for Grandmother. It could include personalized rulers for everyone's favorite school teacher or golf-tee takeaways for the golf fanatic. The possibilities are endless. Let's imagine it together.

Funeral chapel for all

The chapel at Joshua Mortuary is a traditional space with pews that seat approximately 150 guests. The non-denominational space features a beautiful vaulted ceiling and ample natural light. A viewing room located next to the chapel is available to family members and invited guests who desire a private place to remember and reflect on a loved one’s life.

Cremation services

Not everyone knows that there are many cremation options. If you are interested in cremation, the funeral home team can explain the process and different options. From a direct cremation without a memorial service or a witness cremation to a full funeral service before or after the cremation and more, we help you understand this increasingly common choice—and handle all of the cremation arrangements.

Lean on us

Whether your plan includes a traditional burial, cremation or transfer to somewhere else in the world, we handle every detail, no matter how large or small. Please call us when we can help. We are always here for you.

History

Joshua Memorial Park has been part of the Southern California community since the 1959. Founded by James “Jim” Jackson, we welcomed the addition of our funeral home, Joshua Mortuary, in 1997. Our funeral home is the only mortuary located at a cemetery in the Antelope Valley, providing vital convenience and simplicity when planning final arrangements.

Joshua Memorial Park cemetery

Special landscaping feature at Joshua Memorial Park & MortuaryOur 40-acre cemetery, founded in 1959, offers a beautiful final resting place and peaceful atmosphere to reflect and remember. Numerous mature trees such as live oaks, Joshua trees, magnolia and elms provide shade to the cemetery’s 40-acre park on hot summer days. The well-landscaped cemetery also features lovely annual blooming flowers.

Burial options

A walk down one of our winding paths reveals a range of interment options for in-ground burial as well as many choices for cremation memorials such as niches, benches and columbaria. We also have an ossuary. Our veterans section features 4 granite memorials, each dedicated to a different branch of the U.S. military. Flags representing the different branches of the military mark the monument with honor.

Veterans services and Memorial Day celebration

Veterans section at Joshua Mortuary & Joshua Memorial ParkHeld in the veterans garden section of Joshua Memorial Park for the last 25-plus years, our Memorial Day service honors those who have given their lives for our freedom. More than 300 guests attend this annual event, which includes flyovers from Edwards Air Force Base, engaging speakers and a hot dog cookout, complete with popcorn and soda.

The program would not be possible without help from local veterans organizations, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7283 and 3000 and the American Legion Post 311. Boy Scouts groups and the Littlerock High School JROTC place flags on service members' graves. This provides a stirring and humbling backdrop for the day’s events.

Joshua Mortuary and Joshua Memorial Park also participate in the Homeless Veterans Burial Program, which was founded in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, local medical examiners, coroners, veterans advocates, and veterans organizations on the belief that every veteran deserves a dignified and honorable burial. Through the program, homeless and indigent veterans who have no family to claim them are identified and provided with proper military burials.

Holiday remembrance service

No matter your religion, culture or beliefs, we know that the December holidays can be a particularly emotional time for those who have lost loved ones. During our non-denominational Night of Remembrance we invite all families to celebrate lives lost and gain a sense of peace from the healing power of community. Guests to our Night of Remembrance enjoy hot chocolate and seasonal music by the Lancaster Baptist College Music Department, and they light candles in honor of those who have died during the year.

Our planners are celebration of life experts. We plan more celebrations each year than any other provider, and we know just what to do to create a uniquely beautiful and heartfelt tribute with attention to detail like no other.
