Ellen Marie Baldridge

As a child, Ellen excelled in everything, from academics to athletics. She learned to read before going to kindergarten and was enrolled in gifted classes throughout her education. Growing up, Ellen was a member of the AAU Track Club.

Ellen graduated from Crescenta Valley High School. In high school, Ellen was a member of the track and field team, where she broke numerous records as a high jumper. At age seventeen, she was a CIF Masters Champion and achieved a record high jump of 5’9”. This record is still intact and she is 2nd on the list of all-time Track and Field stars for Crescenta Valley High (only being beaten by half an inch!). Ellen stated that she was later able to jump her height of 5’10”.

Ellen earned a full scholarship to UCLA for her excellent academics. Of course, she also joined the track team. After a year, she left to fulfill her dream of starting a family. In 1981, Ellen married William Baldridge. During their eighteen years together, they raised three daughters and one son. Even after their divorce, Ellen and Bill remained good friends. In 1998, Ellen graduated from Antelope Valley College with a Registered Nursing Degree. This was quite an accomplishment for a mother of four!

Ellen will be especially remembered her humor, intelligence, and the unwavering love she had for her family. In addition, she will be remembered for her ability to never lose at a game of scrabble (or anything for that matter).

Ellen was predeceased by her sister, Gwendolyn Fargo, 1981; grandfather, Harvey Huffaker, 1992; grandmother, Danice Huffaker, 2007.

Ellen is survived by her mother, Nadina Fargo, and her father, Raymond Fargo; brother, Ronald Fargo of Kent, Wa; sister Judy Gillan of Sisters, Or; daughter, Tara Baldridge of Palmdale, Ca; daughter and son-in-law, Talisa and Scott Clarke of Lancaster, Ca; daughter and son-in-law Tiffany and Timothy Seufert of Palmdale, Ca; son, Billy Baldridge of Palmdale, Ca; grandchildren, Gwendolyn Mead and Brandi Baldridge; Ex-husband and friend, Bill Baldridge; fur-son, Brian Slover.
