Etta Jean Johnson

“A Celebration of Life” for Etta Johnson will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Joshua Memorial Park Mortuary, 808 East Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93535.

Etta Jean Johnson AKA (E.J.) graduated from Los Angeles City College in 1975 with an AA Degree.

She started her career in 1958 in the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) as a Clerk Typist. Her last duty assignment was honorably served at the Fifth USA Support Element 5th MRU, as a Private First Class.

She later furthered her career by working for the Los Angeles Unified School District at LeConte Jr. High School as an Administrative Counselor and Clerk.

After retiring, she began working as an office assistant at Lutheran Towers Retirement Home while simultaneously working as a part-time office assistant at the ABC television show “America's Funniest Home Videos.”

She was an avid reader and world traveler going to places like Israel, Greece, France, Hawaii, Egypt, Haiti, etc.

Etta Jean was preceded in death by her father James Johnson, her mother Veola Varona, her stepmother Sara Sims, her brothers, Johnathan Johnson and George Johnson.

She is survived by her brother James Johnson, sons Carlton D. Johnson, Eary Isibue lll, and daughter Deborah Isibue-Frazier. Grandchildren: Brett M. Frazier, Sheridan Isibue, Gillian Isibue, Justin Frazier and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Favorite memories: Going to Dinner Theater, Laguna Beach Masters of the Pageants, various plays, and concerts.

The family would like to thank Antelope Valley Care Center, Doctors, Nurses, and Staff for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
