George K Vellios

Born February 5, 1929 in Kozane, Greece and is now known by our Lord. George passed away on December 23, 2025 at home in Lancaster, CA. He graduated high school in Kozane, Greece in 1949. Joined Greek Air Force, graduated 1951 NCO school. Worked for Air Craft Armament, discharged in 1960. 1958-1960 he was assigned to Fort Bliss, Texas, by the Greek Air Force, for missal training. In 1958 he met his wife, Helen, of 45 yrs. in El Paso, Texas. They were married in 1960. She proceeded him in 2006. He naturalized to the U. S. in 1965. Attend AV College where he studied Electronics & Art. He worked for several aerospace companies. Retired in 1989 from Lockheed Skunk works. He was a devout man of God. He will be truly missed by his son, George Thomas, daughter-in-law Reni, Grandchildren-Joshua & his wife Louisa, Caroline & her husband Axel, Great Grandchildren-Eve, Sofia, Celine & Desiree, and numerous nieces & nephews.

Donations to Faith Community Church in George’s honor for their building fund would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

A visitation will take place at Joshua Memorial Park Mortuary, located at 808 East Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93535, on January 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held at Faith Community Church, 39100 10th St W, Palmdale, CA 93551, on January 17, 2026, starting at 10:00 am.

Internment following services at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 2200 E Avenue S, Palmdale, CA 93550.
