Jorge Omar Vanegas

Jorge Omar Vanegas, mostly known as Omar was born on June 8, 1967 to his parents Edgar Rene and Marta Rosina Vanegas in San Miguel, El Salvador. Married Maria De La Paz, his childhood sweetheart on March 11, 1989. Together they moved to New York in November 1989 before settling in Palmdale, Ca in 1994. There he raised 3 children alongside his wife, and worked as a quality inspector for over 25 years. He traveled over 10 countries but his favorite place to go and vacation was his home land of El Salvador. He had an immense love for animals especially his dogs. He shared a love of sports with his children, his favorite teams being San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers and Real Madrid.

He passed away peacefully alongside his wife and children on April 27, 2023. Preceded in death by Father Edgar Rene, Father in law Jose Antonio, brother Nelson Rene, and nephew Adelio. He is survived by his Mother Marta Rosina, Wife Maria de la Paz, children Nelson Omar, Jorge Omar and Melissa Marie, 3 grandchildren, 3 siblings, 5 dogs and dozens of nieces and nephews who love him dearly.

Services for Omar are to be held on Monday May 8, 2023 visitation hours from 4pm - 8pm at Joshua Funeral Home 808 E Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93535. Mass on Tuesday May 9, 2023 at 10am at Joshua Funeral Home 808 E Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93535, and burial to follow at Desert Lawn 2200 East Avenue S, Palmdale, CA 93550 at 12pm.
