Joseph Allen Thompson passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026 at the age of 88. Joe was a native of Oklahoma but made his home in the Antelope Valley for the past 75 years. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Karylynne, his two daughters, Kimberly (Andrew) Hudock of Newtown, Connecticut and Kelly (Philip) Wasserman of Stevenson Ranch, California and his two grandchildren, Kirsten Hudock of Newtown, Connecticut and Ryan (Steph) Hudock of Hopkinton, New Hampshire and their children, Cameron and Jackson. Additionally, he is survived by his beloved nephews and niece, Jeff (Annie) Garrison, Mike Garrison and Teresa (Wade) Lichti. Joe will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his ability to truly listen to others and to find the right compliments or words of support when needed most. He loved to read, listen to music, enjoy good bourbon, and later in life, cooking. Joe was an avid reader of news and enjoyed lively discussions about current events. His thinking was often outside of the box which made his conversations memorable. Joe could be a strict taskmaster and held high expectations of those he loved most, but he was also the most steadfast supporter anyone could hope to find. Joe had an adventurous spirit and he enjoyed many days sailing with his best friend, Phil Garrison. It also has to be noted that Joe was a true animal lover including horses, dogs, and many cats since a young boy in Durant, Oklahoma. Joe's sense of humor, endless charm, and beautiful smile will be deeply missed. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at Joshua Memorial Park on May 1st at 1:00 pm. Joe's family would like to extend a special thank you to his amazing caretakers at Annika's Grace Home and Perpetual Hospice.
