He was born in Walker, Minnesota on February 9, 1930. He is survived by daughter Mary McMurrin (Matthew Waller) of Lake Forest, California and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Neil was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia McMurrin and his siblings June Nelson and Larry McMurrin.
Neil graduated from Walker High School, served in the US Marine Corps in Korea, received his BS Degree from Bemidji State University and his Master of Science, Geography from University of North Dakota.
He taught for two years in Grand Forks, North Dakota and was a teacher and administrator for 35 years in the Palmdale School District in Palmdale, California
Services will be private.
