

Born February 6,1930 in Charton, Iowa to John O. Erb and May C. Scott, both of
Warren County, Ohio. Passed away on December 13, 2014 in Lancaster, California.
Bob moved to Inglewood, California at the age of six and graduated Inglewood H.S.
and Pasadena City College. He served in the Korean Conflict, where he received the
Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal among others. Bob worked
for Pacific Bell for over 38 years as a Sr. Eng/Managing Engineer, and directed the first
operational network terminal equipment center for the Bell system. He co-authored "Cosmic/Cosmos
Interface Requirements," a widely used manual within PacBell. Upon retirement, Bob was named a
Telephone Pioneer of America. He was an avid bridge player, a certified contact bridge instructor,
and ACBL Life Master. Bob was an extraordinary father and loyal friend. His later life was enriched
by the friendship of Slyvia Feinman and her daughter, Debbie. He is survived by his brother, Richard
and six children, Robin E. Dier, Robert W. Erb Jr, John M. Erb, Daniel S. Erb, Darrin C. Erb, and
Michelle D. Carney; their spouses , Bob Dier, Theresa McSweeney, Melaney Ho Erb, Diane Erb,
and Sharon Erb; and his grandchildren, Chris, Diven, Justin Erb, Daniel Erb G. Tyler Ebb, Brian Ebb,
Raquel Erb, Crystal Erb, Jacob Erb, Austin Erb, Connor Erb, Brianna Erb, Joel Vargas, Cristian Vargas,
T.J. Carney and Dylan Carney. Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. December 27, 2014 at Joshua
Memorial Park and Mortuary Lancaster. He will be laid to rest with his parnets at Inglewood Park
Cemetery. "The hearts he leaves behind may never mend."
