

In Mississippi on the 7th day of June 1937, Robert Haywood Sr and Sally Williams had a son by the name of Robert Haywood Jr, who would become a dedicated and loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, friend and coach.
As a young boy, Robert was always full of joy and wanted to see the world. He traveled to many places as an adult. One was the Navy, where he was a cook. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Robert made his way to Philadelphia after a few stops elsewhere. While in Philadelphia, Robert played pro football and he also met his first wife Junita and they had 4 wonderful children. Soon after that, they left for California.
In 1971, Robert met the Love of his Life Nancy. They would end up sharing 45 beautiful years together. During that time, Robert and Nancy would have their first child together in 1973 and ended with a total of 5 wonderful children together. Robert and Nancy exchanged vows June 10, 1995 in Lancaster, CA.
In 1985 Robert Haywood started the Pop Warner team the Woodcrest Generals. He went around asking for dollar donations for ink pens to help start up the Woodcrest Generals. Robert would start with the Generals for 6 years. During this time he would receive many awards. One was from the County of Los Angeles Board Supervisor member Kenneth Hahn. He was also awarded by the California State Senate for the contribution to the youth he gave.
In 1991, he moved to Lancaster, CA where he coached many teams; AV Black Lopes, California Dolphins, AV High School Track & Field and the Lancaster Jets. Robert won many championships. Coach Haywood won 26 games in a row with the Lancaster Jets before he retired as one of the 3 winnest coach of all time. He was loved and adored by all of his fellow players and assistant coaches.
During his retirement he loved to BBQ, fish, go to the horse races, play cards and watching his Westerns and Soap Operas. He was also a religious lottery player, his favorite numbers are his children's birth dates.
Robert lived life to the fullest. There's nothing he wouldn't do for his family. He even fought cancer and beat it. He also owned two restaurants, one was Moses House of BBQ and the other was Grandpa Home Style Cooking and BBQ. Lord has called for a great man and a great coach to join his winning team. Robert will be reunited with his parents, brother, sisters, nephews and grandsons.
Preceding Robert in death are his father and mother, Robert Haywood Sr and Sally Williams. His brother, Charles Haywood. His sisters, Ollie Haywood, Geraldine Jones and Claudette Davis. His niece and nephews, Vanessa Haywood and Burnell Divinity. Grandsons Tywan Haywood and Michael Nash. Daughter in law, LaTanya Haywood and great nephew Eugene Jackson.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Nancy Haywood, brothers and sisters, Leroy Davis, Johnny Davis Jr, Joyce Harris and Jeannette Hollins. 10 loving children, Anthony Haywood, Anthony Haywood, Kevin Haywood (Carolyn Haywood), Jerome Haywood, Barbara Haywood, Robert Haywood (Deidra Haywood), James Haywood (Angelita Purvis), Price Moses Haywood, Tori Haywood and Eric Haywood. He also leaves 48 grandkids and a host of great grandkids, nieces, nephews and extended family.
