Sofia Kappas

born on July 31st, 1937, and passed on May 13th, 2024. Sofia was born in Megalopolis, Greece, and

immigrated to the United States in 1959. She married Anthony Kappas on February 20th, 1960 in

Lancaster, California. She was the owner of Mr. Kay's restaurant for 22 years. Sofia was a caring and

generous hard-working woman who touched many lives. Her humor brought laughter and joy to our

family and her endless energy was contagious. She was proud of her culture and a true believer in her

faith. She will be missed by many and will be remembered with love always. We will continue her legacy

and keep her alive in our hearts. Sofia was the loving mother to her children Tammy, Andrew, and Angela

as well as grandmother to Alexandra and Zachary. She is also remembered lovingly by her nephews and

nieces Steve, Agatha, Dimitri, and their children. And lastly her precious dog Charley who was her

ever-loving companion.

We would like to thank Dr. Gadallah, Dr. Tusso, Mel, Jani, Brittany, and Charlie for taking such

great care of our mom.

Visitation will be at Joshua Memorial Park Mortuary on Thursday, May 16th from 4:00 to 8:00

p.m. with the Trisagion at 7:00 pm. The funeral takes place on Friday, May 17th at 9:00 a.m. at St.

Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St.

Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church or Fresenius Kidney Care.
