Jessi, Steve, Bernard and Willy, though I only met her once at of course the Greek festival; You shared many stories with me of Yia-Yia,❤️ through  the years. There is no doubt the Greek music is loud and the dancing continues. Much love and comfort to you all and the family.  Αιωνία η μνήμη σου

IN MEMORY OF STEFANIA BNVENISTE 
(JULY 26, 1937 – JUNE 30, 2025)

Stefania was born in Karya, Lefkada, 26 July 1937. She was the daughter of Kimon Thermos and Magdalini Valinou.  She was the youngest of their ten children (6 male and 4 female). Her father Kimon Thermos was president of Karya Community Council at the age of 29 (1917). During his presidency, he made the town's problems his own and faced the problems of famine (2017) and hunger due to the war (1940) and the Occupation (1941-1944). His wife and older children helped him in this endeavor.
 
Stefania attended elementary school in Karya, and junior/high school at the cities of Lefkada and Thessaloniki. She studied economics at the School of Commerce of Thessaloniki, presently University of Macedonia.

During her University studies in Thessaloniki, she met her husband Bernard Benveniste. Late 60’s early 70’s she moved to Los Angeles where Bernard’s family was living. In a short time she learned the English language and was able to work at the Bank of America, Westwood, Los Angeles, till her retirement. 

She gave birth to their son Steven Mico Benveniste the 8th of July 1977. It was a great joy to both parents.
Stefania was loved by her parents, her siblings, nephews and nieces (25 total) and their children. She was smart, dynamic, fun to be with, a good mother and wife. 
She was the last one of the Thermos family!!!
She will be missed and remembered with love and respect.

We will remember her fondly at Casanova Carehomes , where Her radiant smile always warmed our hearts, and  Her gentle nature and vulnerability inspired admiration. She will always be remembered . We love you mama Mia 🙏🏻🌻❤️
