Alden Shi, a baby boy born on August 6, 2012, a gift from Gods 11 years after we had our daughter. Alden is outgoing, playful, and full of curiosity. He loved attracting our full attention on him. His favorite time is cuddling time, enjoying staying in our arms. Alden loved imitating my gestures, habits and any physical movement. He enjoyed reading baby books, watching teletubbies, typing on different keyboards, speaking to his toy cell-phone, accompanying me on home yoga workout, and repeating the last note of nursery songs. Alden thought his dad is his best play buddy. His dad always succeeded in tricking him into eating “white meat”, which is the nick name for rice cake, but was never successful in convincing him to try “green meat” or vegetables. Alden was like a treasure to his sister. He was happy with any dress-up style his big sister put on him and the house was always full of his giggling with her. Alden enjoyed playing games with his grandpa. He would put grandpa’s glasses on and pretend he was reading newspaper like his grandpa. Alden was closest to his grandma. He loved his grandma so much that he became jealous when his grandma and I were holding hands together. Alden only had a journey with us for 26 months. Although his life is not short of misfortunes, he passed away without pain in an accident on November 5, 2014. He is now resting in heaven without any suffering. Through his short life he gave us much happy laughter for which we will be thankful for ever. We will always remember him.
