I met Alex in 6th grade at Kermit R. Booker in ‘77.  He was a really good guy. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. It was always a pleasure seeing him at our reunions. I’m grateful I knew him.

Although Alex and I were both BHS class of '84, I think it wasn't until our 20th class reunion that I really had the chance to get to know him. He never failed to make me smile, and his smile lit up the room. Alex had the kindest soul and he truly looked out for his friends. When we realized we were "birthday twins" (same day, same year!), there were precious few years after that that we didn't trade messages on our twin day via Facebook Messenger. I loved that! I will look up to the heavens each year and keep right on wishing him the happiest of birthdays. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Alex so sorry gone far to soon. You were there for me many years ago when i needed someone the most. I will always remember hate we lost contact over the years. So glad i got the chance to reconnect . RIP Alex no more pain you are free.

Alex you loved your Lakers & Kobe. My heart and condolences go out to your family & friends who will mourn your passing.

It is so hard to bring myself to believe you are no longer here on earth. I know you are in a better place and no longer suffering my friend. I’m sad we did not get to spend time before you left. This is a picture of when you came out with a large group at Planet Hollywood. It was one of the very very very rare times (and only time since I’ve known you) you had 1 alcohol drink and you got so sick, I remember going to your house the next day and I felt so bad for you. I share this memory because this was who Alex was. He did not like to drink and he always had fun without it. He didn’t need it. This is also when you still had your long hair. Will miss you always Alex 🙏🏻❤️

Alex you were one of the 1st friends I made when I moved to Vegas in 1999.  We worked at Rainforest Cafe together. We had so much fun and always worked hard. I always admired your calves and always asked you how you got calves like that ☺️😆 I remember you worked out 💪 a lot and worked a lot. You always made time for your friends. I remember I told you I wanted a KEEPNDL license plate and you got it! Lol 😆 I’m happy to say we remained friends through the years. I will miss you my sweet friend.

Alex was a lifelong friend who never forgot his past. He was a tremendous ambassador of BHS. I can still picture him proudly driving his Camaro around campus! He always kept me up on the happenings of our classmates, and stayed in touch with so very many. We had a mutual love of music, and he'd always send me old songs that reminded us both of the "good old days". He had the best laugh where his head would nod, but no sound would come out! That's when we knew something was really funny! So many fun times and trips through the 1980's. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with his family.

We are deeply saddened by his passing. He was a kind and caring neighbor who always looked out for our family.  His thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

With heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. Tong. May God’s Word bring you comfort, and may you find strength in knowing that others share in your sorrow. Losing someone we love is one of the most difficult trials we face in life. Yet the Bible gives us hope! It points to a beautiful future, as Isaiah 25:8 (and Revelation 21:3,4) promises: “God will actually swallow up death forever and Jehovah God will certainly wipe the tears from all faces.” Please also read John 5:28,29. These wonderful verses have brought comfort to many who are grieving, myself included. I truly hope they bring you peace as well.  Once again, my deepest and sincerest condolences.

My first memories were of you at TPC 20 plus years ago.I'd mess with you over those remarkable calf muscles when you wore shorts working on the patio. You helped me get a part time gig at another spot post Covid. For Alex a stranger was just a friend he hadn't met yet. You fought the good fight friend and will be missed by many.

Childhood friends that started on Carpenter Drive and Rose Warren Elementary thru adulthood.   Although we didn't see much of each other in person, we kept in contact thru text, social media and the occasional phone call.  Family, doggies, friends and clean cars are all you Alex!  I am sure my dirty Mini Cooper drove you nuts when you came to Maui for a visit.   You are already missed so much .  A Hui Hou Alex....

My heart is broken hearing about Alex. He wasn’t just a childhood friend—he was family. Growing up together on Carpenter Drive, all of us hanging out late on the block, those are memories I’ll carry with me forever. Alex’s passion for his cars, keeping them spotless, and always thumping his music is something I’ll never forget. That was him—full of life, presence, and heart. I’ll always smile thinking about how he used to call me “cho.” Sending so much love and prayers to his family during this incredibly difficult time. Alex will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’ll keep his memories close, always.

About once a month, we would find a restaurant to check out, often because it had someone he knew working there . So we got the discount :-).  This one was special because he had never been to the top of the Stratosphere. I can’t tell you how funny it was to watch his knees shake as we went up the elevator.  And he really freaked out when he realized the restaurant was moving. We had a blast, and the food was spectacular!!!  I will cherish each and every one of these memories.   You were one in 1 million.

So THANKFUL to have been able to spend this past Thanksgiving with Alex and Papa Tong. Certainly going to be a day to remember!

To one great friend or really my brother. Alex you will always hold a special place in my heart we met back in the 80's  and we worked together at my parents A&W's and we ate a lot at your mom and dads restaurant  tongs Palace. We grew up together dancing in your front living room doing old school dances and  we basically drove the same cars you having your Camaro and me the firebird. I know you are at peace right now looking down at us saying suckers and with mama tong and hopefully you might met my kimberly Ann up there . You both hold a special place in my heart . Passing in the same hospital and same room is just a hard thing to deal with and you both passed at 59 years of age . I just don't agree with the man above taking too wonderful people way to soon. I love you Alex and I will see you soon brother. Your brother Stephen Child.

Just one of so many great times and great memories  with AL T!  He was one of the few that never met a stranger.  He was a great friend to me as well as countless others.  His love for people and for life never wavered even over the past year as he fought through so much.  Even in his final days he was able to give an infectious smile to his visitors, do a little dancing and revisit so many of the great times that we had over the last 40 plus years. 
He will be terribly missed by all those that knew him. 
Gone far too soon but will never be forgotten.  
Rest easy with friends and family my friend.
