

Anabel P. John, age 80, of Las Vegas, NV passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021, with her children by her side. She was born on April 3, 1940 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Joseph and Ellen Elizabeth Pappin and was the younger of two children.
The family moved to Las Vegas where she graduated from Bishop Gorman High School and eventually pursued a modeling career and held various beauty titles.
In 1958 Anabel worked for First Interstate Bank where she met Daniel O’Connell, future husband and father of her six children (Danny (Carla) O’Connell, Kathleen O’Connell, Patrick (Glenda) O’Connell, Therese Meyers, Tracy Whitmore and Kristina McIntosh). She and her husband later divorced and she went on to work for Southwest Gas and the State of Nevada, Food Stamp offices.
In 1998 God brought her and the love of her life, Kenneth John, together and they married in 2000. Anabel and Ken enjoyed time with their dogs, traveling together, as well as spending time with family. Anabel loved watching football and golf.
She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She was beautiful and graceful always. She is survived by her six children, sister Betty (Lee) Cotter, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two nieces and three nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and husband. The family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at the Nathan Adelson Hospice (Tenaya) for their attentiveness and loving care.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021, at 1:05pm at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
