Barbara Anne Mendenhall

She was born July 25, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Barbara Payne. She graduated from high school in Chicago before moving to Las Vegas, where she built both her life and career.

Barbara worked for many years in the Las Vegas gaming industry, holding several positions with various casinos including catering clerk, slot attendant, receptionist, and player’s club representative. She was known for her friendly personality and dedication to her work.

Barbara had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. During her years with her partner, the couple shared their home with three beloved dogs. She was also a longtime supporter and member of the Humane Society.

She is survived by her domestic partner of 23 years, Robert Brooker; her sister, Kathryn Titter of Indiana; and her brothers, Robert Payne of Indiana and Scott Payne of Illinois.

At her request, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Las Vegas Animal Shelter in her memory.
