Beatrice Benson was born July 21, 1933 in Jacksonville, Texas to Lee and Ola Benson. She attended elementary through high school in Dallas, Texas. After moving to Las Vegas at age 17, Beatrice worked for many years in Las Vegas hotels as a Housekeeping Inspector. In 1960 she became the first black cocktail waitress in Las Vegas.
Sister Beatrice was one of the early members of the Unification movement. She served in many states from New York, where she directly attended the founders, Father and Mother Moon, to Nevada where she first met the church and spent her last years. Our Las Vegas community will truly miss her. She gave many years of service to the movement. Her dedication to service endured throughout her life.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Lee and Ola Benson and her sister, Eva Lee Benson Stanton. Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory her niece, Darlene Stanton Wimberly, great nieces Jessica Davis and Candace Davis, great nephew Stephon Wimberly, and Darlene’s 3 grandchildren, Jayden, Brayden and Jazlynn. She also leaves behind a host of cousins and great nieces and nephews. Many relatives and old, dear friends also survive Beatrice.
