Bessie Thompson, 94, a Las Vegas resident for over 50 years, passed away July 31, 2013. Mrs. Thompson was the executive housekeeper at the Sands Hotel until her retirement in 1981. She later worked as a housekeeping supervisor at the Mirage until the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Thompson; son, Gordon Mason; four sisters; and one brother. She is survived by her children, John Mason and Barbara (Tedd) Bross; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, with services following, both at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Entombment following, at Palm Valley View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bessie's name are suggested to Family Home Hospice, 8655 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123.
