Brent was our first bishop when we moved to Las Vegas 27 years ago, and we admired him very much. Our condolences to you all in this temporary parting, but joy cometh in the morning. All our love.

I met Brent and his Trophy Homes team when they were looking for architectural expertise. Along with many, many home building projects we developed a true respectful friendship. Each weekly meeting started with a question from Brent of “ how is your family” and “ all good in your life, need any help” . The projects flowed effortlessly because Brent was a true leader, listening to various viewpoints, leading discussion, then moving forward with consensus. I will always remember our discussions of home builder ethics, Christian values, mutual athletic experiences, and his relentless desire to help others. A living example of Christian values. Peace Brent.

Brent was somebody I admired for many years, first as my boss, then as a Church Leader and then as a friend.  His love for life was infectious, his love for people was genuine and his love for the Gospel was True.
I remember sitting in the Trophy Homes conference room waiting to start the weekly staff meeting one Tuesday morning with several employees that were church members.  We were 'complaining' about the stake time change for our meetings, somebody had the 8 am and was now changing to the 1 pm slot, not a good switch in the eyes of most people.   Brent walked in, sat down, listened and then in his quiet, commanding voice, say " I don't understand what you are complaining about,  the entire day is the Sabbath, what does it matter which hours we spend in the Church Building?"     
He always had those little points of view that may have not been powerful at the time but have stayed with me for, well now, for decades!


I have so many memories over the years with my friend Brent.  A few such as ...following  Brent around Raintree apartments to visit all his friends (because he just wouldn't stay in one place for long!), and he had A LOT of friends!   Asking Brent to please move his Green Thumb Grooming pick up truck from the middle of the driveway, and turn down the stereo so Annette doesn't complain!  Having Brent make fruit shakes late in the night that, per Brent, were really "dandy".   Watching Brent move the same stacks of paper around his room over and over  as he claimed he was "getting organized" !  Cutting trees for fire wood  in Idaho with Brents dad , and seeing Lee throw a tree trunk through the back window of his dad's pickup truck (Ray was amazingly calm) !  Talking about new challenges in life such as kids, houses, and callings.  Golfing and swimming in Cabo.   Most of all, having a friend you could call to laugh and cry with, and knowing there was understanding and compassion on the other end of the phone.     Brent was such an example in so many ways.   His demeanor through good times and bad was always admirable. I'll miss him so.   I look forward to giving him a hug in heaven, and saying "How are you doing you old Pot Licker!"

Brent is one of the greatest men I know. He always had time for me. He always listened to what I had to say and he made me feel like a better person every time we interacted. I am truly grateful that he was part of my life. Brent lived an amazing life and I know he loves his family greatly. I will miss him dearly. I send my condolences to Linda and all family members. I know this is hard but know that Brent will always be with you.

To my Brother Brent: How we are going to miss you but we also know that it is only for a brief moment that we will be separated.  I am grateful that your suffering is over.  I can only imagine the reunion with Garret, your mom & dad and grandma Bell.  Thanks for all the memories from the last 40+ years.  The triathlons, the marathon, the Utah ironman attempt and not least the cabin at Brianhead.  Thanks Brent & Linda for sharing with me and my family .  
   Thanks for introducing me to your family so long ago because Inkom became my second home and all the memories that that brings.  The time spent with your dad on the ranch and eating your mothers cooking.  You all made me feel as part of you.  I love you and the example that you set.  I know that you will be working hard but keep an eye on me as much as you can.  Forever yours Lee
