January 8, 1950 – July 12, 2025
With tender hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Claudia Elaine Jones Dennis, who departed this life on July 12, 2025, at the age of 75.
Claudia was born on January 8, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harold LaMar Jones and Wanda Elaine Eschler Jones. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from Kearns High School, where she first discovered her deep passion for working with children. She also attended Westminster College of Salt Lake City. Though she once aspired to become a social worker, Claudia selflessly set aside her career ambitions to focus on what she cherished most — raising and nurturing her own children.
Throughout her life, Claudia embodied kindness, empathy, and compassion. She dedicated herself not only to her four children but also to hundreds of others through her work as a loving and trusted home daycare provider. Many of the children she cared for later entrusted their own children to her tender care — a testament to the lasting impact she made on the lives she touched.
Claudia later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, in support of her husband’s career, but no matter where life took her, family remained the center of her world. She is remembered for her special, loving, kindhearted, graceful, passionate, and selfless nature. To her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, she was a safe harbor, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Her hobbies reflected her beautiful spirit and zest for life. Claudia had a profound love for animals of every kind — from dogs and cats to birds, ferrets, and even chipmunks, she rescued and cared for them all. She expressed her creativity through art, especially through her holiday window paintings. Claudia found joy in movies (whether laughing through a comedy or braving a horror film), music (with a special fondness for musical show tunes), and family vacations to places like Disneyland, Mexico, and Hawaii. Above all, her favorite moments were those spent simply being with her family, sharing meals, stories, and laughter.
Claudia’s greatest accomplishments will always be the family she raised and the lives she enriched. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, who will carry forward her example of unconditional love, compassion, and resilience.
We will miss her warmth, her humor, and her unwavering devotion. Though she is no longer with us in body, the impact of her love will forever remain in our hearts.
