Dear Heavenly Father, all praise and glory be Yours as we pray that the strength and understanding of Your Holy Spirit dwell in the hearts of Denise and all of Dan’s family.
This we ask in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen

What will I remember about Dan McGrew beyond the fact that he was the loving and caring husband, companion and friend to my sister, Denise?

I will remember the genuinely caring and friendly man that met everyone he knew with a warm smile and a big hug.  No, there was no simple handshake when you saw Dan.

 As I think back over the years, I realize that I never saw Dan with a scowl or frown on his face.
I never heard him complain or lament about anything; even at times when you knew he had to be going through a lot of pain or anxiety.  I never heard him talk about himself – other than the possible mention that he liked playing golf.  Dan always exhibited a genuine interest in what I or others in the family were doing.  Dan’s love for my sister and all of his original, adopted and extended family and many, many friends could never be mistaken.

I am confident that Dan is looking down on all of his family and friends, but still smiling and offering hugs as he reunites with all those that went before him.

Our love and condolences to Aunt Dee and all the family. We will miss this wonderful and kind person. 

Dan was so welcoming and kind to me and our family.  He always went out of his way to engage and show true interest in our lives and to let us know he cared about us and cherished our connection.  

I am so appreciative of the time we spent together with Dan and the family at our annual Kansas City Chiefs pre-game dinner. I’ll cherish the memories of heading down to the hotel lobby early on game day and finding Aunt Dee and Dan sitting in the Lobby. He would welcome us with a big smile and a hug and we would spend time catching-up before we all headed out with the family to tailgate. 

I’m also thankful Dan, and my oldest son Zach had the opportunity to talk golf and share stories about the game they both love to play.  As always, Dan went out of his way to show true interest and carrying about our family.  He offered to take us out to his favorite golf course in Las Vegas sometime-and I regret we didn’t get that opportunity. However, after reading about his hole-in-one on #4, it is clear we would have been outmatched. :) 
 
We will miss you Dan and you will be in our thoughts and memories always! 

Zach and I will Tee a few off for you this summer and when we hit them long and straight, we will know you are with us!

My condolences to Dan's family and friends.  I met Dan in 4th grade and were neighborhood friends in grade school.  Played on same ball team with his Dad as the coach.  Dan's mom and dad were very good people and  had a great family.  Although I hadn't seen Dan much since high school,  I appreciate that I got to know him as a kid and know his mom and dad and family. I know he'll be missed by many.
