Delbert Lynn Frye, known to friends and loved ones as Lynn, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on August 8, 1942 to Adelbert Frye and Hulda (Carnes) Frye. He went to be with the Lord and reunited with his sweet wife on May 11, 2020.
Lynn married Cheryl Ann Grimsley on June 19, 1971. Lynn and Cheryl spent the early years of their marriage in northern California before relocating to Pahrump, Nevada. Shortly thereafter, Lynn graduated from UNLV with a degree in elementary education. He was a dedicated and selfless educator for more than two decades.
Lynn and Cheryl lived in Pahrump, Nevada for more than thirty years, where they raised their two sons, Kevin and Matthew. Once retired, Lynn and Cheryl moved to St. George, Utah to be closer to family. Shortly after moving, Lynn lost Cheryl to a battle with cancer. Consequently, he decided to join Matthew and his family, as Matthew pursued his career through several locations across the country.
Lynn was a devout and nearly lifelong member of the United Methodist Church; he did his best to engrain himself in each congregation he attended. Lynn loved to fill the room with his singing and praise. After his wife’s death, much of Lynn’s time was spent with his grandchildren, where he continued his passion for educating, and imparted his love for learning on them.
Lynn will be dearly missed by his surviving two sons, Kevin and Matthew, four grandchildren, Libbee, Kylee, Anberlyn, Asher and older brother Chuck Frye.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that children’s books and school supplies be donated to your local elementary school.
