Diane Buangan- Ancheta was 41 years old. She was born February 9, 1970 in the Philippines, married to Joel Ancheta, and mother to James Gerard Ancheta. She passed away October 30, 2011 with her family by her side in Las Vegas, Nevada after a long battle with breast cancer.
Diane’s life would seem short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She possessed the qualities of a wonderful mother, a caring, generous, and loving sister. Her passion with kids was absolute. She will be missed by her husband who demonstrated unwavering support, complete devotion, and embraced her with unconditional love, her son who will continue her legacy, her supporting family who she had showered with unwavering affection, and her countless friends, who were blessed to know her. Her expression of love to animals was evident through her dogs Oreo and Cookie.
Diane loved to travel to wonderful places (such as Mexico, Paris, Italy, Hawaii, Florida) most of us would see on postcards. She enjoyed reading, and dedicated her time and energy to people who are in need. Diane was a humble person yet appreciated some of the finer things in life, like a nice bottle of Merlot.
She was fortunate to be able to work with SkyChef, Legato, and Ilog in the San Francisco Bay area and the Venetian, where Diane and Joel worked when they moved to Las Vegas in 2003. Diane dedicated one hundred fifty percent of herself to the demands of her employment and made herself useful in many ways. She understood and respected the expectations of her superiors and co-workers, and only asked for openness in return.
Diane is especially remembered for her quick wit and spirit of adventure, and the persistence that allowed her to achieve success in many endeavors. If Diane were here to speak, she would remind everyone to be patient with each other, to say something kind to one another, and to appreciate life. She was a very jovial and sociable person who had a very strong personality but a very soft heart. Despite her weakened condition, she was more concerned for her family than herself. She refused to be a burden to other people.
During her plight with breast cancer for over five years, she showed great strength and courage, discovering the love and hope that God provided. She encouraged and shared this love with the whole family. She led the way to deepen the families’ relationship to God and regained a stronger faith in Him.
Diane is survived by her husband Joel, and son James Gerard whom she loved very much; parents, Estrellita and Charlie Sr. Her siblings Charlie Jr., Patrick, Bruce, Marilene, and Maricel and her two dogs Oreo and Cookie whom she considered her children.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
