It was just recently that we heard about the passing of a friend which we can’t believe to this day! Dionie was gone over a month ago. We know Dionie and Dollie from our Fil-Am group, PAAN here in Las Vegas. It was a shock as we didn’t know that he was seriously sick. Dionie had always a smile every time we see him. A very helpful guy who was always available to assist during our yearly potluck picnic. The last time we saw him was at our 2019 Potluck Picnic wherein he did the “chopping of lechon.”  Dionie was so gracious and ready to help. He was such a gentleman who was ready and able to help! 
To Dollie and family, please accept our sincerest 
Sympathy. We feel your pain having lost my brother suddenly last year. Dionie is now in Peace and happy watching us to continue his legacy of friendship to our fellow Filipinos in Las Vegas and beyond. I’ll include him in my novena for Peace and Happiness in his now Forever Home!🙏

We went to  church today  but the doors were lock already when we arrive as the mass has started  to pay respect .

Una kong nakilala si Onette sa University of Santo Tomas sa Manila, Philippines, year 1970’s. Siya ang makisig na BF ng pinakamaganda sa aming barkada, si Dollie Mananquil. Regular si Onette bumibisita sa UST Nurses’ Home ( dyan kaming mga nurses naka dormitoryo). Nakakainggit silang tingnan.
Si Dollie lamang ang may matatag na kasintahan sa barkada.

Lahat kaming barkada ay nakarating dito sa Amerika at Canada,  at pinipilit naming magsamasama (reunion) nitong mga ilang taong nakalipas.

.  Dahil si Donnie ay kilala ng lahat (Donna Manabat, Elsa Macatangay, Toots Manaoat, Beng Malaluan at ako, Shon Magsalin),  parating masaya, hagakhakan ang aming get togethers. We love Donnie. Looking back, he ‘spoiled’ us❤️ dearly.

Donnie treated us so special in his own caring way.  Dollie and Donnie had an everlasting love ❤️ . ...walang kupas!
It’s difficult to see nor imagine Dollie without Donnie.  
Big hug to you my dear Dollie. I feel your pain and sorrow 😢

Condolence to  Donnie ‘s family stay strong and safe his in better place now. Surely he will be missed every time we bowl am thinking of what he say to me after his doctor sent him home from hospital that everything is fine, and he answer yes Doc is not my time yet because I don’t have 300 yet in bowling. We are so sorry for your loss. Donnie will be missed by many (us and his Senior Islander League friends/bowlers). He was a very nice, humble man who always had a smile and friendly 'arm bumps' to start our bowling day.  We were honored to have known him, be a friend and bowl with him.  Donnie loved the sport (bowling). He bowled in the Senior Islander League for 11 years (joined in 2012).  He may be gone from our sight, never our hearts and memory.  "R.I.P.  Donnie" we miss you!

We all know that Uncle Donnie was a loving husband to Aunt Dollie,  a dedicated father to Djoanna and a proud grandpa. A loyal and dependable friend.  He was an Uncle/father to us in Wichita, Kansas.  Uncle Donnie always welcomed us in their lovely home in Wichita. He was an awesome host.
He kept in touch through the years. Never failing to send us positive energy through messages on our FB posts. I will surely miss that! I am so glad I saw him in the Philippines when he visited in 2018.  I didn't know that would be the last.  Uncle Donnie, I know that you will be watching over Aunt Dollie, Djoanna and your grandchildren. We will treasure all the wonderful memories and remember you as long as we live.  Thank you for the love! Until we meet again...

Death is a part of life but sometimes it is difficult and even challenging to accept it when someone  close to and loved by many suddenly and unexpectedly leaves to start their spiritual journey to His kingdom.
Donnie was an acquaintance. Unfortunately, there was not enough time for this relationship to blossom into a close friendship. We met at the Suncoast bowling center indulged in a game we both loved. He was definitely the better bowler. Our meeting and presence were always acknowledged by nodding of the head, amiable smile and some bowling chats. He was an assuming, quiet, simple and humble person.  His earthly stay may have ended too soon but the memories will linger just as those of  Pio Villar and Lito Villanueva both of whom also left us recently.
Our sincerest prayers and condolence for his family and the loved ones he left behind.

"Life has changed not ended" for Donnie.

To Dollie and the rest of the family, may you find comfort in God's love. For all those who knew him, especially in the bowling community of Suncoast, he will be remembered as someone with that gracious smile always and his love for the game (and yes, he was really good at it)!!!

Rest in peace Donnie. And for those he had left behind, though our sadness is difficult to face, in faith we know that we'll meet in that perfect place.

On my first week in the US as an exchange student back in the late 80s..I met this friendly person at the grocery store asking if Im Pinoy.  It was Tito Donny and he invited me to come to Tita Denny's party so I can meet all the Filipinos in Wichita. From then on Tito Donny and Tita Dolly became family to me. I will never forget them specially Tito Donny. I have played bowling with him too....and boy was he serious about this game i.
 He will always be my barkada and my big brother...I will miss you Tito Donny. Im sure my Papa will now welcome you at the gates Heaven as you have open heartedly did with me August of 88.   Maraming Salamat Tito, you will always be in my heart and mind for as long as I live.

Donnie was among the first ones I met when my son and I migrated to Wichita. We celebrated some holidays with him, Dollie and DJ.

They have always been cordial and accommodating. Their hospitality extended at their Las Vegas abode. I appreciate the times Donnie conversed with me in Ilocano and related some stories about a relative of mine that he worked with in the Philippines. He was a genuine friend and will truly be missed. 

Stay strong Dollie and DJ - your angel will always be nearby in spirit.

I met Donnie about 4 or 5 years ago at where else but at a bowling center - the Sun Coast bowling Center.  It was an instant connection with Donnie as we shared the same views and interests especially when it came to politics, both here in the U.S. and the Philippines. 
We often called each other and almost all the time we would get disconnected and he would always say that I was being monitored by the democrats. Lol

He called me that dreadful Sunday asking me where Errol Zapanta was and was worried that something might have happened to Errol cuz he said Errol never misses a game and would always call him if he can't make it.

I called Donnie the next day not knowing what had happened to him the day before. a few minutes after we talked on the phone but did not get an answer.  I started to worry then cuz he always picks up and if not he would call me right back saying he left his phone somewhere or that he was busy.  

I called Errol to tell him that Donnie was looking for him as he was MIA yesterday for their Sunday game.
I was shocked when he told me about Donnie and up to now I still cannot believe that Donnie is gone.   I will miss him and so will my other Friday league bowlmates especially the munchies that he brought everytime we bowled.
May he rest in peace.
