Donna was born in Boston, MA. on January 8, 1954. She was the only child born to her parents: mother, Barbara L. (Moore) Bates, and her father Robert E. Bates. She lived in Lynn, Ma and Somerville, MA after she was born until the age of 3 when she moved with her parents to Palmdale, CA in 1957 when her father got a job at Edwards Air Force Base. She did travel back to Massachusetts often to visit her grandparents and family and enjoyed spending time with them over the years. She graduated from Paraclete High School in Quartz Hill, CA in 1972. She met her husband George D. Tuttle while he was serving in the Army there and married him on Nov 11, 1972. Shortly after their wedding, they were transferred to Anchorage, AK. It was there her first daughter Andrea was born in 1974. After her husband left the Army, they moved around a bit until they settled back in Palmdale in 1975. They bought a house down the street from her parents, and she gave birth to her middle daughter Christine in 1976. She gave birth to her youngest daughter Nicole in 1981. She and George divorced in 1992. She worked part time at Palmdale Hospital Medical Center as a dietician assistant for many years until it closed in 1993.
She then went to work for Costco in 1997, working for CDS, where she became a lead to the employees that hand out samples. She worked with and became friends with many people there over the years. She loved to interact with the customers and kids that would come by and see her. She was friendly and everyone that worked with her always liked her. She retired from CDS in 2016.
Donna dedicated herself to her family and friends. She was always willing to help whenever anyone asked. She had a great sense of humor and loved to be around her family and have fun. She loved to cook fudge with her grandkids, take them places and spend time with them. She loved animals and had many dogs and cats that she would take in and care for. She loved to travel and visited her daughter often as she moved around the country. She especially loved visiting Hawaii, which she visited 4 different times. She loved road trips, the beach, Disneyland or just being with her kids and grandkids. She was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Andrea Robinson and her husband Edward, Christine Newsome, and Nicole Johnson, her grandchildren; Devontae, Dallas, Tyson, AJ, Tyrone Jr. and Azia and her great- grandchildren; Amiya and Andre.
