Esperanza, a beloved member of the Las Vegas community, passed away at the age of 75. Born in the Philippines with a radiant spirit and a heart full of love and kindness, she touched the lives of all who knew her. She immigrated to San Francisco in 1972 with her devoted husband Romeo and together grew their family to include three children. She lived in California, Washington, Kansas, Florida, and eventually settled in Nevada. She would tell anyone who asked that Las Vegas was, by far, her favorite city to reside.
Espie, as she was known to her family and friends, was a devoted wife, mother, sister, Lola, Ninang, Tita, and friend. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for family, her generous heart, and her ability to bring joy to any room. She had a passion for fun, whether it be casinos, bowling, traveling, dining, dancing, cooking, and parties. She also enjoyed sports, cheering on her favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs, Golden State Warriors, and USC Trojans. Espie lived life to her fullest, and as her husband says, "she was happy all the time."
Espie is survived by her husband of nearly 53 years, Romeo; brothers Medy, Daniel (Arceli), Jerry (Ellen); children Eileen (James), JR (Carfie) and Elana; grandchildren Alyxa, Caden, Davyn, Isla, Declan, Ryker and Gunnar; all who will carry on her legacy of love and strength. She is preceded in death by her parents Angela and Pedro Hernandez, and her sister Norieta.
Services to honor Espie's life will be held in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 18. Please reach out to the family for details. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Cancer Society https://donate.cancer.org/?campaign=honormemorialmedia&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaignid=21603275924&utm_adgroupid=169792393161&utm_keyword=american%20cancer%20society&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4fi7BhC5ARIsAEV1YiadkyGq63o0O2BvFvuPsy2fMTZzzTsWno0xADUO9x4VD1z5c-NNekUaAiobEALw_wcB
Espie is greatly missed. Her loved ones will cherish her contagious laugh, vivacious personality, warmest hugs, and unconditional love.
