

Evelyn Maxine (Funderburk) Judie, born on October 31, 1941, in Sunflower County, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025 with her family. She was the beloved daughter of Percy Funderburk, Sr. and Julia Robinson Funderburk, and the fourth of six children.
Evelyn was a proud graduate of Sumner High School and later furthered her education at Donnelly College where she received her associate degree. Evelyn worked as a daycare teacher for many years before retiring.
Throughout her life, she was known for her warm spirit, open heart, and unwavering compassion. She never knew a stranger. Even when she had little, she always found a way to give, share, and extend kindness to everyone she met.
Evelyn had a joyful love for dancing and singing, filling rooms with her laughter, rhythm, and light. She had a special love for children, and she lived her life guided by a deep and abiding love for God, which shaped her strength, gentleness, and generosity.
She leaves to cherish her memory her five children: Michelle Brown (Donald), Kimberly Jackson, Barry Jackson, Roxanne Carter, and Sherman Judie (LaToya).
Evelyn was a devoted grandmother to twelve grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness and love.
Evelyn Judie’s life was a testament to faith, resilience, generosity, and joy. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held at Highland Park Cemetery on January 9th 2026 at 2PM. The family is asking that all donations be sent to: The Adult Daycare where they work with individuals with memory loss.
